Make a DIY Rain Guard for Your Camera from an Old CD Spindle

Make a DIY Rain Guard for Your Camera from an Old CD SpindleRain guards for your camera aren't that expensive, but if you'd rather make one yourself yourself, Digital Camera World shows off how to convert an old CD spindle case into a rain guard for those rainy spring shoots.

All you need is the plastic cover of a CD spindle, some gaffer tap, a clear bag, and a sharp knife. If you happen to have a compass sitting around that makes it a little easier to get the right cut as well. From there, you just calculate the diameter of your lens, cut out the CD spindle, and wrap it in gaffer tape. Finally, attach the plastic to the CD spindle with more tape, and you're all done. If you don't need a fully waterproof camera this certainly does the trick. Head over to Digital Camera World for the full how-to.
