More about SAMI:? Substance Abusing Mentally Ill is a?group of providers and consumers of substance abuse and mental health treatment services in Los Angeles County.? The group?s monthly meetings provide educational opportunities, introduce various treatment programs, and give participants a chance to network and learn from each other.? Phoenix House Academy of Los Angeles provides residential treatment for adolescents with substance abuse and/or co-occurring mental health disorders. Our adolescent outpatient program allows teens to live at home while receiving intensive or traditional outpatient services. ?The Academy serves up to 110 teens and integrates residential treatment with an on-site public school (grades 9-12) managed by the Los Angeles County Office of Education. Treatment services include individual, group, and family counseling delivered by experienced mental health and substance abuse professionals. Our evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy curriculum addresses trauma, aggression and anger, family relationships, and gender-specific issues. We also offer ancillary enrichment services such as art therapy, health and fitness programming, and a state-of-the-art music recording studio.
