Samsung launches Official Top 40 Chart App for Galaxy phones

Samsung has beefed up the features available on its popular Galaxy series by launching a brand new music app that gives users access to the UK?s Official Top 40 Chart.

The service comes exclusively to Samsung thanks to a partnership with MusicQubed ? a British mobile music startup previously known as ChartsNow.mobi. Downloaders of the app will gain access to all of the tracks residing in the top 40 singles chart, as compiled by the Official Charts Company.

Giving it an advantage over many other music apps of this nature is the absence of adverts and interruptions, while its system of caching tracks overnight during off-peak network times means no streaming is necessary.

There are also daily celebrity news updates and a ?What?s Hot? bonus track feature, as well as integrated connectivity with Facebook and Twitter allowing users to share and comment on what they?ve been listening too.

Those early on the uptake seem to approve, as the app currently has an average rating of 4.2 in Google Play Store, where it can be downloaded on Galaxy devices including the new Ace II (pictured above). The Official Top 40 Chart App is free for an initial two month trial period, with an Access All Areas pass becoming available for ?1 a week thereon.

In typically exuberant, launch-statement style, Samsung?s VP for Telecommunications and Networks said, "The Official Top 40 Chart App, powered by MusicQubed, is the latest exclusive content we're bringing to our devices and we're delighted to make it available to our customers.

?Access to all the latest chart hits instantly and exclusively free on Samsung devices, the Official Top 40 Chart App is a great content offering and is the latest example of Samsung's drive to provide innovative technology to suit our customers' lifestyles."
